Sunflower Artificial Flower

Back due to popular demand! Gingers take on what’s hot and what’s not for wedding flowers in 2021!

It’s safe to say with Covid-19 restrictions, 2020 has been a wedders nightmare, but that hasn’t stopped the creative work at Ginger Says HQ. While we have seen some challenges, Artificial Flowers are on the up and the trend has been set. Brides are loving the flexibility and endless options, so can you really blame them?

With uncertainty around wedding dates, everyone is lapping up the 100% satisfaction rate with flowers provided at any point before a chosen wedding date. These babies don’t expire and store perfectly in our acid free tissue paper, free of charge!

With everything up in the air, it must be nice to have consistency and stability that Artificial Wedding Flowers bring. Anyway, there’s plenty happening and I cant wait to show you our top picks for Wedding Flower trends for 2021.

Dried and Preserved – Boho

Firstly, the free flowing trend of naturals in the dried and preserved look has flooded Facebook and Instagram for several years now, and doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere soon.  Earthy tones of vanilla, caramel, chocolate and rust can be seen with common infusions of blush, peach and coral pink. With a distinct style of bouquet being requested, the unstructured field flower look is the most sought after.  Pampas, fan palms, ruscus, hydrangea, wheat, cotton, bunny tails and bleached fern just to name a few…

This theme is incredibly versatile and slight variations allow it to transform itself to any wedding theme or location. With a luxe, romantic location such as a winery, simply add in some “real touch” artificial vintage roses or dahlias and your bouquet will feel decadent. If the countryside is more your style, add in some native proteas or sunflowers for a more rustic feel. Heading to the tropics? Fan palms added to your dried pieces will give you that boho vibe.

The hottest bridesmaids colour at the moment is rust, making this style of floral design the perfect fit. Warm and natural tones suit this palette perfectly. If rust is not your thing, consider tones of blush, salmon, chocolate or coffee.

We cannot see this trend slowing anytime soon and the fact that it matches the bohemian style of wedding gown with absolute perfection is an even bigger reason for it to stay.

Not wanting to be left behind, the artificial flower field is in hot pursuit with a full range of “dried looking” faux flowers and foliage being released in September/October of this year.  It is totally amazing how quickly they have adapted to this ongoing trend. Keep a look out in the coming months!

RED HOT TIP: Artificial floral arbor arrangements are constructed in one complete piece that can be easily attached to your arbor for your ceremony with zippy ties. Then with one cut, can be easily moved to your ceremony to adorn your bridal table or used as a back drop.

Coloured Orchids and Pa

Coloured Orchids and Anthuriums

Orchids and Anthuriums are emerging as a simple, clean look that oozes elegance and classic design.  We are beyond excitement that these majestic flowers are now emerging in coloured infused versions.

Scrumptious colours that are emerging include subtle tones of mocha, blush, salmon, latte, vanilla and dove grey.  Infused Orchids and Anthuriums come with texture and detailing on each individual flower head and when you use them strategically placed in your bouquet or floral design they are simply spectacular!

A particular style of arranging is used here that sees flowers in a more “grouped” rather than “blended” look and quite often has no greenery at all.  Fine fillers are kept to a minimum with a more clustered heavier styling used in wedding design.  It has impact and grace all at the same time.

This is a very classic, high end style and looks amazing when paired with a simple, elegant wedding gown.  It’s like having the perfect accessory, almost wearable floral art!  Your flowers will absolutely pop in your wedding photos.

Large overflowing orchid sprays can make the most simplistic table centre piece arrangement when simply just placed in a vase.  Only 1 or 2 sprigs required for an elegant but stylish look.  Alternatively, sweeping sprays of orchids as one of your key flower heads in an arbor piece creates absolute magic.  Impact, impact, impact!

Metallics

We are loving this look, and if you love that “luxe” feel to your wedding then you will too!  With Gold and Rose Gold leading the charge, metallics are back with a vengeance!  As a striking feature or a more subtle embellishment, metallics will take your floral design to the next level.

Fan palms, tropical leaves, anthuriums and orchids are all making their debut as metallic options.  A dash of metallic in your bouquet or arbor flowers takes your look from beautiful to spectacular!

Keeping within your tones throughout are essential for this design to work.  Warm tones of blush, peach and coffee will lend itself to Rose Gold and all white bouquets will simply dazzle with a splash of gold.  Cool tones of dove grey, blue hues and lavenders bode work well for hints of silver or gunmetal.

Be careful if your bridesmaids dresses are metallic.  We suggest keeping the metallic vibe to your bouquet in this instance to a minimum.  Fine sprigs sprayed in metallic can be added but too much of a good thing will be overkill.  You can however, take this theme right into your reception.

With the DIY in full swing, metallics give you lots of options when styling your table centre pieces.  Old jars can become groovy metallic vases, simply add a floral posy and you have created the perfect floral design.  Table scatters, table numbers and napkin rings can all be considered in metallics.  Add some strategic lighting and watch your floral vision shine!  I mean literally…..metallics and lighting are the perfect pairing so think LED battery powered lighting intertwined onto the table for a magical look!

Oversized Artificial Flowers

Oversized Florals

There is absolutely no doubt that “the bigger the better” has been evolving over the past 12 months.  With many brides having to scale down the size of their wedding and the number of guests, they are channeling their funds into statement floral pieces instead.  Large oversized bouquets are becoming the most requested and huge floral designs for arbors would be a close second.  Lets not forget the groom in all of this….oversized buttonholes are also an option.

This is fast becoming the trend for elopements…..the one magic shot of you and your significant other, standing together, taking your precious vows in front of a visually stunning floral backdrop.  A majestic bouquet to match….it is simply a floral fiesta.  A moment in time you both will never forget!

To create a grand masterpiece requires some grand flowers… and fortunately, large flower heads and oversized fillers are in vogue.  Particular options include pampas, fan palms, grasses, monsteria leaves, orchids, roses and dahlias.  Any colour scheme or design is possible here it just needs to be BIG!

Our first 3 trends are the key ingredients to achieve these oversized pieces of floral art.  They can be blended without hesitation as long as the style and tone are kept cohesive.  Think sprayed metallic rose gold palm fronds with clustered blush dahlia heads, sprawling salmon orchids and draping pampas with textured white fern to soften the overall look.  Oh this is not for the faint hearted….guests will be gobsmacked!  The perfect look for wedding gowns with tones of moscato, champagne, blush or almond.  It’s all tonal and that is the key.

With uncertainty around wedding dates, everyone is lapping up the 100% satisfaction rate with flowers provided at any point before a chosen wedding date. These babies don’t expire and store perfectly in our acid free tissue paper, free of charge!
