It’s fair to say your flowers play a huge part in the look and style of your wedding day. Starting with the bouquets, flower crowns and buttonholes, these not only become an accessory to your look, but will also feature in almost every photo taken.
Moving onto the ceremony and then the reception, your flowers are the all important ingredient that creates atmosphere, adds colour and creativity to your room décor and brings everything together so it all works. Nailing the perfect style couldn’t be any more important and takes a lot of thought and planning.
Could you even consider artificial flowers to create that latest trend in floral design? Absolutely! The notion of having artificial flowers for your wedding day used to conjure up images of old fashioned, plastic looking flowers your Nanna used to have in a vase on her sideboard in the 80’s! Oh how times have changed!
With the development of real-touch, the use of latex, flocking and different mediums other than silk, artificial flowers have emerged from the cocoon and transformed themselves into something of real beauty. Unlimited colour options, year round availability and advancements in quality have paved the way for some unbelievably realistic looks and design options.
We, here at Ginger Says, love designing arrangements for our brides and we’ve noticed a few styles that will be a huge hit in 2020… so we thought we’d share them with you! I must warn you though… all of the wedding flowers in these photographs are 110% artificial!
Bohemian Wedding
You don’t have to resort to fragile dried flowers to get that on-trend bohemian style bouquet. Popular tones of terracotta, clay, mustard and sienna are filtering through as artificial flowers keep up with emerging trends. New releases of pampas, banksias and coffee coloured proteas will be available over the next few months and will look absolutely stunning all year round.

Romantic Wedding
Rambling roses or beautiful tulips in real touch create the perfect bouquet for the elegant bride. The new Ecuador rose is so close to a peony and is fast becoming our go-to flower. Blooms that are so unbelievably realistic in soft pastels of blush, champagne and peach or deeper dusty pinks teamed with a glossy mid-green leaf or a softer sage green, will get you this unbelievable look. Trailing foliage and fine fillers such as heather add that hint of whispy romance.
Native Wedding
This extremely popular style is just so adaptable and it only takes a couple of minor changes to turn rustic into elegant or country into coastal. An amazing native bouquet starts with a good quality King Protea and the colour choices in this magnificent flower head increases every year. Combine that with the perfect silver dollar or gum leaf foliage, blushing bride, astrantia and wax flower to create a realistic and truly spectacular native bouquet. Keep it classic in green and white or add a pop of colour, either way, it’s definitely a winner!
